nih logoThe National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has selected the principal investigators and clinical trials units (CTUs) that will lead and conduct the research of the five restructured HIV/AIDS clinical trials networks through 2021. The new structure is designed to create a broader, more flexible and more collaborative approach to the networks’ research priorities, which include therapeutics, HIV-associated infections, prevention strategies, vaccines and microbicides. Total funding for the networks’ leadership and the CTUs is expected to reach $275 million in 2014, the first year of operation.
