In the latest interview from the Conversations from AIDS 2012 series (CEG) in Washington, D.C. Ms. Young discusses CEG's massive testing program focusing on heterosexual African-Americans living in the District and the program's involvement in HPTN 065, a NIAID-funded study to examine how best to incentivize HIV testing, and support linkage to and retention in HIV care and treatment.
In her remarks at the AIDS 2012 Opening Session on Sunday, July 22, Secretary Sebelius described her recent visit to CEG and lauded the program's exceptional linkage to care rate.
In the past year, CEG also organized the Road to AIDS 2012Exit Disclaimer project, a 17-city tour to engage diverse community members in a dialogue on the National HIV/AIDS Strategy and the Affordable Care Act (ACA). While underscoring the importance of the ACA for people living with HIV and the need for community-based organizations to prepare now for its full implementation in 2014, Ms. Young urged her colleagues to remember that, The future is now.
