“We held a meeting with the Health Action Alliance of probably close to 15 to 20 businesses who are all sharing ways they are enhancing their response to the HIV epidemic,” he said. “The businesses really came to the table to think about both what the community needs are in light of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy and things that they could do to really help jumpstart us forward and continue reaching and achieving our goals.”

Mr. Phillips also emphasized the importance of comprehensive services like those offered by the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program and closed with a call to action.

“I also want to encourage all of us to do what we can locally in our communities to both accelerate the HIV response and to elevate the conversations about HIV discrimination, stigma and HIV criminalization,” he said.
